MYTHIC Progression - Hans/Frans & Flamebender

Tonight we are progressing Hans and Frans.

On MMO Champion Forums, I came across this add-on on the encounter that lets you know the time left every time a stamper is activated.

http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/hansgar_and_franzok_assist

I will try this out tonight and see if its worth it. It seems people have been testing it and trying it out and its been good so far.

Hopefully we kill it and then move on to Flamebender Mythic.

The differences in Mythic Flamebender are the following:

They mostly are related to wolves

  1. Only one Cinder Wolf will be Overheated at any time, but ranged must deal with three  Fixates and all players must watch for the resulting three  Fiery Links
  2. All four Wolves must die within 8 seconds, to avoid  Rekindle, and players must kill the Wolves before Ka'graz begins to channel  Firestorm, as healers will be unable to keep up with five times the  Firestorm damage.

Additionally, if a player kites a  Fiery Link through an Enchanted Armament, the weapon becomes Empowered and will use  Empowered Armament to deal very heavy damage to any players within 6 yards. After becoming Empowered, Enchanted Armaments also gain a  Magma Eruption ability, dealing moderate Fire damage to a random player every 0.5 seconds. Both  Empowered Armament and  Magma Eruption last 9 seconds.

PLACEMENT

  1. Ranged players need to be standing at the edges of the room. This will ensure the Enchanted Armaments come out on the edges of the room.
  2. The boss Ka'graz should be tanked slightly off-center so that the tanks remain in range of the healers - very important! since healers will be at edge of room-
  3. When Wolves spawn, the players kiting should move forward, so that there is no possibility the  Fiery Link will pass through an Enchanted Armament's location.
  4. If necessary, tanks can move Flamebender Ka'graz back, into an open area, to allow the ranged more space to kite.

Smart Stampers and Stamping Presses - Mythic Diffculty

The encounter pretty much consists of same mechanics as normal and heroic with the exception of one or two differences and the fact that if you don't dodge or get hit by something, you WILL DIE.

SMART STAMPERS

  1. Smart Stampers will detect the location of players in the raid and activate the belt squares - this is the reason why groups needs to stay together
  2. Stamp locations will glow and intensify over 10 seconds until the Stamping Press falls. Count to 5 then move. Once the stamp falls, players WILL DIE.
  3. This Press stays down, blocking line of sight and movement, for an extremely long time - until the phase is over! It is important for players to stick together, minimizing the number of Smart Stampers that spawn, and to move to safe squares in a timely manner. TOGETHER.
  4. The raid should split into two groups and coordinate movement so that each group activates the least Smart Stampers possible and all players have room to maneuver and keep the boss in line of sight.

STAMPING PRESSES

Players can avoid Stamping Press damage by standing in between conveyor belts, as with Searing Plates.  One can dodge the presses strafing left, to right, and moving up, and down.

Step By Step Guide: WoW Token

As you are all aware of, by now, there is a new system implemented in-game called the "WoW Token"

In this new implementation you can either purchase a WoW Token for $20.00 USD and sell it in the AH for gold at current value (bound to change with warcraft economy). You can ALSO purchase a WoW Token with gold at current AH value for 30 day game time.

Here is a little Step by Step Guide video:

  1. Go to WoW Shop Services Menu In-Game
  2. Select WoW Token
  3. Put in your password
  4. A token will appear in your inventory
  5. Go to AH
  6. Choose "AUCTIONS"
  7. Put in the Token
  8. Sell it at current AH value.
  9. You can also purchase a Token for Game Time in the AH with gold.

EoTE or AS - That is The Question!

Last night's discussion w/ a buddy really brought up some really great points in regards to Patch 6.1's EoTS (Echo of the Elements) changes and AS (Anscestral Swiftness).

With EoTS, I tried it for a while after Patch 6.1 went live, but when it comes down to it,  I am experiencing that it is better having AS - that 5% haste and the ability to use every 1.5 min definitely has been/was way more efficient. Because, in reality, it is a great point brought up to me...and one that rings true - How many times does one really use SLT in a fight? Whereas AS can be used so much more and coupled with Ascendance. Definitely worth it. Something to really consider.

For a while I held to EoTE because of that comfort zone to having the 2 charges of SLT available in case of emergencies. But I was missing out on healing opportunities and therefore, lacking efficiency.

Also with the 4 set bonus, having glyph of riptide is way better. this means free riptides will allow procs of the 4 set bonus via tidal waves, so the 2 stacks of rip tides are not as efficient with EoTE and also unleash life no longer buffs HR (/cries), so its pretty much useless...I mean, yes, its great that it buffs your heal...but in reality, how does that really work out? If you need to heal a tank super fast you're just going to cast healing surge. you're not going to cast Unleash Life, and THEN healing surge - he may be dead by the time you finish casting - its a split second difference that can determine survival or a wipe. In theory it works. In a practical emergency situation, unless you're so amazing at keeping that stuff up like a robot and stuff it doesn't most of the time.

In the end, I suppose it comes down to "play styles" as well as "preference" or an encounter where SLT may be needed a lot like , lets say - Gruul's  inferno slices, or Oregorger's  retched blackrock, or Blast Furnace Blasts, or Flame Bender's Firestorms....etc...However, as a raid group there are other healers whose CDs may be more efficient than SLT's 10% dmg reduction. So when using this, keep in mind its just 10% dmg reduction vs. lets say...Revival, or Tranq, or Barrier, or Dev. Aura. Its a big difference.

Hmmm....Food for thought.
